Ó CONNMHAIGH—IO Connowe, O Conway, Conoo, Cunnoo, Conway; 'descendant of Connmhach'; the name of a Dalcassian family who were formerly ollaves of music in Thomond. At the end of the 16th century it was common throughout Munster and South Leinster, and was also found in Roscommon and Cavan. It is now generally anglicised Conway.
