Ó CAINGNE—I—O Kangney, Cangney, Cagney; 'descendant of Caingean' (business, compact, dispute, etc.); a Munster surname. The family, which is a branch of the Corca Laoighdhe, was originally seated in the parish of Myros, in the barony of West Carbery, Co. Cork.
