THE McConn family is descended from Ith, uncle of Milesius, King of Spain. The founder of the family was Lughaidh McConn, son of McNiad, A. D. 173, of the race of Lugadth, son of Ith. The ancient name was Conn and signifies “Speed.” The possessions of the clan were located in the present Counties of Donegal and Londonderry.
