Ó hOISTÍN—IIO Hustyne, O Hustin, Histon, Hestin, Hestion, Hasting, Hastings, Hestings; 'descendant of Oistín' (a Norse personal name); the name of a Connacht family who were followers of MacDermott of Moylurg; still common in Connacht, especially in Mayo. Some of the family had settled before the end of the 16th century in Limerick and Kerry, where their descendants are still to be met with. The name is now also common in Clare.
