Ó COLTARÁIN—I—O Coultran, O'Colter, Colter, &c.; 'descendant of Coltarán'; the name of an ancient family in Co. Down, from whom the parish of Ballycolter probably derives its name. It seems to have been shortened to Ó Coltair, which see.
