MÍOLÓID—VIIIMylode, Melod, Mylott, Moylotte, Mellott, Mellet, Millet, Mylett, Mullet, &c.; 'son of Milot' (diminutive of Milo; v. Mílidh above); formerly a Tipperary surname, but now most common in Co. Mayo. In the latter county, Méalóid and Málóid (which see) are apparently variants and are similarly anglicised.
