Mac MEIBHRIC, Mac MEIRIC, Mac MÍBHRIC—V—Meyrick, Mayrick, Merrick; 'son of Merick' (the common Welsh personal name Meurug); the name of a family of Welsh origin who settled in the valley of Glenhest, to the west of Glen Nephin, Co. Mayo; now more commonly Meibhric, Meiric (which see) without Mac.
