Mac GIOLLA RÓNÁIN—IV—O Kilronane, Kilronan; 'son of Giolla Rónáin' (servant of St. Ronan); the name of a bishop of Clogher, early in the 13th century. At the beginning of the 17th century, it appears as O Kilronane in Co. Cavan. It has always been very rare.
