Mac DHUIBHNE—IVM'Duynie, MacEvinie, MacEvinney, &c.; 'son of Duibhne' (ill-going, an ancient Irish personal name, opposed to Suibhne); the name of a Breifney family, one of whom was Bishop of Kilmore in the 15th century. Its anglicised forms cannot easily be distinguished from those of Mac Aibhne, which see. See also Mag Dhuibhne, which is the more common spelling.
