Mac COISE—VII—M'Cashie, M'Cashy, MacCosh, MacQuish, Cush; Legge, Foote; probably 'son of the courier,' the 'footman.' Erard MacCoise was a celebrated Irish poet and chronicler. The name is found also in Scotland.
