Mac COINNIGH—IVM'Coinny, MacKinney, MacKenzie, &c.; 'son of Coinneach' (fair one); the name of a celebrated Scottish clan. It appears to have been also an Irish surname, but its anglicised forms cannot now be distinguished from those of Mac Cionaoith, which see. The Scottish-Gaelic is Mac Coinnich.
