de BHOSC—XII—Fox; i.e., 'the fox,' one of somewhat sly and cunning disposition; the name of a once respectable old English family in Co. Limerick. Mount-fox, near Kilmallock, is called in Irish Móin an Bhoscaigh, Fox's bog, from a member of this family.
