From A Dictionary of Irish Artists 1913

He painted in Dublin in 1743 a portrait of James Annesley, the claimant to the Anglesey peerage. This was engraved in mezzotint the same year by Andrew Miller. The print, which is inscribed Wm. Lawrence Dublin Pinxt., was advertised in "Faulkner's Journal" as "from an original picture painted by Mr. Lawrence." Nothing further is known of this artist.
