From A Dictionary of Irish Artists 1913

He painted in Dublin in 1743 a portrait of James Annesley, the claimant to the Anglesey peerage. This was engraved in mezzotint the same year by Andrew Miller. The print, which is inscribed W^m. Lawrence Dublin Pinx^t., was advertised in "Faulkner's Journal" as "from an original picture painted by Mr. Lawrence." Nothing further is known of this artist.
