THE McNestor family is descended from Milesius, King of Spain, through the line of his son Ir. The founder of the family was Fergus, King of Connaught, and his wife, Maude, Queen of Connaught, A. D. 60. The ancient name was Nestor and signifies “The Honest.” The possessions of the clan were located in the present County of Donegal.
