KILLEEN, a parish, in the barony of UPPER OSSORY, QUEEN'S county, and province of LEINSTER, 2 ½ miles (S. W.) from Durrow, on the road from that place to Kilkenny; containing 632 inhabitants. It is a vicarage, in the diocese of Ossory, forming part of the union of Aughamacart, with which parish the tithes are returned: the rectory is impropriate in the Ladies Fitzpatrick.

In the R. C. divisions it is part of the union or district of Durrow. Here are the ruins of Ballykaly castle.
