Roibheal

Rev Patrick Woulfe
1923

ROIBHEAL—VIIIRevel, Revell, Reville; 'son of Rabel' or Revel, an old personal name in England, of uncertain origin. Ravelin, its diminutive, occurs in Domesday Book and Searle, and is evidently the origin of the Irish name Raibhilín, anglicised Revelyn, borne by the Savages of Co. Down. Reville is an old, but rare, Wexford surname.
