RAGHNALL—VIII—Reynold, Ranell, Reynell, Reynold, Randall, Randell, Reynalds, Reynolds, Renolds, Ranolds, Rannals, &c.; 'son of Reginald' (older Reginwald, Raginwald, a common Teutonic personal name); the name of an old Co. Dublin family, of record since the end of the 13th century. Charles Reynolds of Dublin, and John Reynolds of Blundelstown, Co. Dublin, were attainted in 1691.
