Ó SCUIRE, Ó SCUIRIDH, Ó SCURRA—IO Scurry, Scurry; 'descendant of S----------'; the name, according to MacFirbis, of a family of Cinel Eoghain in Ulster. It was also borne by a family in Ui Maine in Co. Galway, but is now little known, if at all extant. MacFirbis writes it Ó Scuire and Ó Scara. It was written Ó Scoireadh in the title-page of a book published by James Scurry at Waterford in 1820.
