Ó MAOILBHRÍGHDE—IO Mulbridy, O Mulridy, Mulbreedy, Mulbride, Mullbride, Millbride, Mulready, Murready, Reid; 'descendant of Maolbhríghde' (servant of St. Brigid); the name of a family of Ui Maine who were chiefs of Magh Finn, or Bredach, in the barony of Athlone, Co. Roscommon, but were dispossessed many centuries ago by the MacKeoghs and dispersed through the neighbouring districts of Connacht and Leinster. St. Brigid was patroness of the family, and Bredach was dedicated to her.
