Ó LABHRADHA—IO Lowrowe, O Lawry, Lowroo, Lowery, Lowry, Lavery; 'descendant of Labhraidh' (speaker, spokesman); the name of an ancient family in Co. Down, where it is still common. The different branches of the family are distinguished by epithets attached to the name, as Ó Labhradha Bán, Ó Labhradha Ruadh, and Ó Labhradha Tréan, which see. The Uí Labhradha of Kilkenny and Galway are most probably migrants from Ulster.
