Ó CLOCHASAIGH—I—O'Cloghessy, O'Clohessy, Cloghessy, Clohessy; 'descendant of Clochasach'; an old Thomond surname, still well known in Clare and Limerick. The O'Cloghessys, in the 16th and early 17th century, owned the townland of Ballynaglearach, in the parish of O'Gonnelloe, Co. Clare.
