Ó BAODHÁIN—I—'descendant of Baodhán' (simpleton, diminutive of baoth); the name of a family formerly seated in the district of Badhna, in the east of Co. Roscommon; now obsolete, or changed into the synonymous form Ó Baoithín, which see. O'Donovan erroneously supposed it to be the origin of the surname Boyton.
