Mac GIRR an ADHASTAIR, Mac GIRR an AGHASTAIR—VII—MacGirrenagastyr, MacGirrenastyr, MacGirrnaystar, Nestor; 'son of the short-(man) of the halter'; now shortened to Mac an Adhastair, which see; the name of an old Thomond family who were followers of the O'Loghlens of Burren.
