Mac Fhionnlaoich

Rev Patrick Woulfe
1923

Mac FHIONNLAOICH—IV—MacKinley, MacKinlay; 'son of Fionnlaoch' (fair-hero); the name of a Scottish clan; said to be a substitution for Mac Fhionnlogha, which see. The pronunciation in modern Scottish-Gaelic is Mac Fhionnla (Mac Ciúlla). It does not appear to have been at any time an Irish surname, but is now sometimes erroneously substituted for Mag Fhionnghaile, which see.
