Mac an IASCAIRE—VII—M'Inesker, Fisher; 'son of the fisherman' (Irish 'iascaire'); a late importation from Scotland, if not a translation of the English surname Fisher. The Scottish-Gaelic form, as I heard it, is Mac an Iascair.
