LAIMBEART—VIII—Lamberde, Lambart, Lambert; 'son of Lambart' or 'Lambert' (a Teutonic personal name; both forms occur in Domesday Book). The surname is old in Ireland, but apparently confined to Dublin. To be distinguished from Lamport, which see.
