UI BLOID, descendants of Blod, son of Cas, a branch of the Dal gCais (which see), including the families of O'Kennedy, O'Shanahan, O'Durack and O'Ahern, whose territory lay in the east of Co. Clare, where the name is still preserved in the deanery of Omulled.
