de SAOGRÁBH—XIde Segrave, Seagrave, Segrave, Seagrove, Segre; Norman 'de Segrave,' i.e., of Seagrave (Anglo-Saxon Saegraf), a parish in Leicestershire. This family came to Ireland probably in the early part of the 14th century and settled in Meath and Dublin. Their chief seat was at Killeglan in Co. Meath, with branches at Cabragh and Ballyboghill, in Co. Dublin. In 1322 Stephen Segrave was made Primate of Armagh.
