de LIOSTÚN—XIde Lextoun, de Lectone, de Lyston, Lystowne, Liston; Norman 'de Lexington,' 'de Lexintoun,' 'de Lessinton,' 'de Lextoun,' 'de Lyston,' i.e., of Lexington, or Laxton, in Nottinghamshire. This family settled in the 13th century at Kilscannell, in Co. Limerick, which they held down to the year 1595. when it was confiscated and granted to Captain Robert Collum. The Listons are still numerous in Co. Limerick.
