THE McRody family is descended from Milesius, King of Spain, through the line of his son Ir. The founder of the family was Croin Badhroi, son of Eocha of the Irian race. The ancient name was Rodachain and signifies “Diligent.” The possessions of the sept were located in the present County of Cavan.
