THE McNally or McAnally family is descended from Ith, uncle of Milesius, King of Spain. The founder of the family was Faha Cahan, A. D. 194, of the line of Lugadth, son of Ith. The ancient name was Analach and signifies “Chronicler.” The possessions of the clan were located in the present County of Mayo.
