THE Cornyn family is descended from Ith, uncle of Milesius, King of Spain. The founder of the family was Faha Canan, A. D. 194, of the line of Lugadth, son of Ith. The ancient name was Cheannach and signifies “Baldheaded.” The possessions of the clan were located in the present County of Donegal.
