He wrote under the direction of Aedh, Bishop of Sletty (near Carlow), who died in the year 698 A.D. These are his words:

“Patricius, qui et Sochet vocabatur, Brito natione in Brittanis natus. Caulfarni diaconi ortus filio ut ipse ait Potiti presbyteri qui fuit de Vico Bannaveni Thaberinde haud procul a mari nostro; quem vicum constanter indubitanterque comperimus esse ventre (vel venitria).”
