PIOCÓID, PIOGÓID—VIII—Picot, Pickett, Pigott, Piggott; 'son of Picot' (diminutive of Pic). 'Picot' occurs in Domesday Book as the name of a tenant-in-chief in Hampshire, and 'John Picot' is an early entry in the Dublin Roll of Names, A.D. 1216.
