Ó TREABHAIR—IO Trevir, O Trover, Trevor, Trower, Trevors, (Travors, Travers); 'descendant of Treabhar' (prudent, wise, skilful); the name of an ecclesiastical family in Co. Leitrim, of the same stock as the MacClancys, who were erenaghs of Killarga; still common in Leitrim; now also in parts of Ulster.
