Houghney, Green; 'descendant of Uaithne' (green); written Ó hUainidhe by Keating and Ó hUaithnigh by the Four Masters; the name (1) of a Cork family who were followers of O Laoghaire of Corca Laoighdhe; and (2) of a Thomond family who, however, have long since changed it to Ó hUaithnín, which see.
