Ó hONCHON—IO Honechan, Unehan, Ounihan, (Donegan); 'descendant of Onchú' (a leopard, warrior); the name of a Leinster family who, prior to the Anglo-Norman invasion, were seated in the north of Ui Feilme, in the neighbourhood of the town of Tullow, in Co. Carlow; now very rare.
