Ó Goillín

Rev Patrick Woulfe
1923

Ó GOILLÍN—IO Gullin, O Gullyn; 'descendant of Goillín' (diminutive of goll, one-eyed, or of gall, a cock); apparently a variant of Ó Gaillín, which see; formerly in use in Cork and Kerry, and, doubtless, the original form of the surname now pronounced Ó Goillidhe, and anglicised Golden and Golding in these counties.
