Ó Doireidh

Rev Patrick Woulfe
1923

Ó DOIREIDH, Ó DOIRIDH—IO'Derrie, Derry; 'descendant of Doiredh'; the name of an ecclesiastical family in Donegal, who were erenaghs of Donoughmore, near Castlefin. O'Donovan seems to have regarded this as the same name as Ó Doighre, but, except that their anglicised forms are the same, there is apparently no connection.
