Ó BUACHALLA—IO Buoghelly, O Bowghilly, O Bohelly, Boughla, Buhilly, Buckley; 'descendant of Buachaill' (the boy, used as a personal name). This surname, in the 16th century, was peculiar to Cork, Tipperary and Offaly. It is now also common in Kerry, Kilkenny and Dublin. There are very few of the name in any other county.
