Ó BIGIGH—I—Biggy; 'son of Bigeach' (derivative of beag, small); a rare Mayo surname; probably the modern equivalent of the old Mayo surname Ó Beacdha, which was borne by a Bishop of Tirawley at the beginning of the 13th century.
