Ó BÁIRE—IO Barre, Barry; 'descendant of Báire' (short for Barrfhionn or Fionnbharr, fair-head); the name of a family of Corca Laoighdhe who anciently possessed the peninsula of Miunntear Bháire, or Muntervary, in West Cork; said to be still extant in Co. Cork, anglicised Barry.
