Mac EOCHÁIN—IV—M'Keoghan, Keoghane, Keohane, &c. This surname is now almost peculiar to West Cork, where it is pronounced Ó Ceocháin (with short eo). See Mac Eacháin, which is the Ulster form; also Mag Eocháin.
