Mac CONGHALAIGH—IVM'Conalaye, M'Connally, M'Connolly, Connolly; 'son of Conghalach' (derivative of Conghal, high-valour); a rare surname, formerly in use in Sligo and Leitrim. In Co. Monaghan, it appears to have been sometimes used as an alias for Ó Conghalaigh, which see.
