Mac Anabadha

Mac ANABADHA—VIIM'Anaboy, M'Annovoy, MacNaboe, Monaboe, (MacAnabb, MacNabb), and, by 'translation,' Victory; 'son of the premature' (Irish 'anabaidh,' unripe); a Breifney surname. It appears to have been early corrupted to Mac na Buadha, on the erroneous supposition that it was derived from 'buaidh,' victory, and has been accordingly sometimes 'translated' Victory. It is also apt to be confused with Mac an Abbadh, which see.
