OIRGHIALLA (whence Oriel), the name of a great Ulster clan descended from the three Collas, who conquered the ancient Ultonians and wrested from them the greater part of Ulster; but in later times their territory was confined to Louth, Armagh, Monaghan and Fermanagh.
