GÚILÍN—VIII—Golding, Goulding, Golden, Goolden; 'son of Goldewine,' or 'Goldwine' (Latin 'Goldinus') an Anglo-Saxon personal name. Under the form of Golding it came into Ireland soon after the Anglo-Norman invasion when the family settled in Dublin, Meath, Kildare, and parts of Munster.
