BUINNEÁN, Bonane, Bonan, Banane, Binane, Bunyan, and incorrectly Bennett; the name of an old Kerry family who were seated at, and gave its name to, Ballybunion in North Kerry. Latterly it is being turned into Bennett, which is altogether wrong and equivalent to the assumption of a new name.
