Was admitted as a quarter-brother in the Guild of St. Luke in 1753. He was living in Bull Lane and Hawkins Street from 1772 to 1786. Heraldic drawings signed by him, done between 1765 and 1768, are in a volume of Pedigrees in Ulster's Office, Dublin Castle. Bamford also painted landscapes and theatrical scenery.
